BREATH OF MY BELOVED

“True beauty radiates not from outer cosmetics, but from the simple joy of making a difference for those that need your voice, passion, and time without expecting or wanting anything in return...” ~ Deborah Barnes

To be beautiful means to be yourself, to be yourself means to know who you are, not only the way society sees you, but the way God sees you.

In today's life, we can so easily get caught up in the idea of what society says beauty is and that plays a big role in how we feel and act towards others. God did not intend us to be like each other. God made us all unique and beautiful with our own timeless qualities.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt less than enough? Have you ever compared yourself to the images on social media, wishing you could change just a little bit more to fit in? I have been there too. But let me tell you something profound: You are already beautiful. Not because of how you look, but because of who you are.

God, in His infinite wisdom, crafted you with care. Every freckle, every curve, every smile line tells a story of His love and your journey. When you smile at a stranger, when you comfort a friend, when you stand up for what is right, your true beauty shines through. It is not about the outer appearance, but the inner light that reflects God's grace and love.

Imagine waking up each day and seeing yourself through God’s eyes. He sees you as His beloved daughter, perfect in your imperfections, strong in your vulnerabilities. He delights in your laughter, cherishes your tears, and rejoices in your victories.

Think about the times you’ve felt the most beautiful. Was it when you were dressed up for a special occasion, or was it in the quiet moments when you were simply being yourself? Perhaps it was when you comforted a friend in need, shared a heartfelt laugh with a loved one, or stood up for someone who couldn’t stand up for themselves.

Remember the story of Esther, who found courage in the face of fear and used her voice to save her people. Think of Ruth, whose loyalty and love shone brightly even in the darkest times. These women remind us that true beauty comes from within, from our faith, our kindness, and our courage.

So, let us lift each other up. Let us remind one another of our inherent worth and beauty. When you see a sister doubting herself, speak words of affirmation. When you see her struggling, offer a helping hand. Let us be a community that celebrates inner beauty, that cherishes each unique soul.

You are beautiful, just as you are. You are a reflection of God's love and creativity. Embrace it, nurture it, and let it shine. Together, we can redefine what it means to be beautiful, not by society's standards, but by God's perfect design.
